Dear Mark and Nathan.

As a child, I walked past the same large mud puddle on the way
to school daily.

As it dried, the surface broke into nearly perfect hexagons and
pentagons, with deep cracks separating the "tiles" of silt!
It looked so "artificial", that I had to stop and wonder about
it.

I'm sure there are numerous other examples of nature imitating
artifice.

Best wishes
