This was not made clear in the article above. Any suppositions about planets about some other star must await further discovery. This could take decades, maybe centuries. We would send intelligent probes .. not alien (human) invaders. If perchance we should scope out a planet with intelligent albeit less advanced beings, can you imagine the doubt, denial, confusion and fol-de-rol that would ensue among their people? It would probably be best to hide the probe-craft as much as possible, and under no circumstances to make overt contact. That would be the most moral and practical course. Best wishes - Larry Hatch
