Could it be that you have too much invested in the Face at Cydonia to risk a downslide in sales of its various associated bobbles and books? I can understand the dilemma you face, however, there is something much more important for you, Richard Hoagland and Mark Carlotto to consider in this new find. In the long run, this New face on Mars will lend even more credibility to existence of the Cydonia artifacts. The Face at Cydonia took an effective slam during the CATBOX saga... I warned many of you (back then via e-mail and BBS posts) before the Cydonia Face was re-imaged, that you were putting too much power in this one artifact, and that it would be quickly and ruthlessly debunked by NASA et al in the eyes of the public. And as history records, that is exactly what occured. Their effective debunking of the Face has placed the anomaly issue on the back-burner of the public's general interest and into the pages of the tabloids at best. Most of those really interested in Cydonia know of the now rectified Cydonia Face data, but the general public does not. In fact, even today, any casual surfer to a NASA or MALIN site for a look at the Face at Cydonia will still find themselves staring at that ridiculous CATBOX and look no further. NASA MALIN et al, have effectively (although unfairly) gutted the credibility of the Face at Cydonia in the eyes of the general public Kynthia. Of course I agree, the Face at Cydonia is a truly magnificent artifact, especially considering its association with the surrounding structures, in fact, it and Hoagland were the inspiration for my studies of Mars and the Moon. However, the general public has lost interest in the Face at Cydonia and anything associated with it... So what we need now is something new to grab the publics interest again regarding the overall Mars anomaly issue. And this New Face I've found on Mars fits the bill perfectly. The USGS has confirmed by two separate e-mails to Mitch Battros at ECTV that the base data is correct and has not been tampered with. And unlike the Face at Cydonia, this new face structure was imaged in excess of 8 different times over a two year period! All of the data is available on the thousands of NASA VIKING CDs that were sold to the public over the years! And most, if not all of these different images support the existence of this structure! Now we all have an opportunity to study a new face structure from a new perspective... I'll admit that the surrounding features are less inviting than that of Cydonia at first glance, but this means little in the big picture especially considering the number of images available for study, and the astounding features and the fine detail that this new face provides us. In fact, further study of this New Face may also provide evidence of a special asscociation to Cydonia! You should take the time to re-visit my numerous webpages on this new face (I also have all of the relevant data in full size images but they are not posted) and rethink this issue carefully. I actually laughed when I read that you thought my South Peak was nothing but a clipped piece of fabricated data. You may not know this but you should Kynthia...I was the first to study the South Peak...And on my website the whole chronological saga is available for anyone to read through. And I also have to ask you, if my South Peak find is so insignificant, then why did Mike Bara take the time to mention the fantastic structures of "both peaks" in Hoaglands last bio? In fact, I took offence to this part of his bio because it suggested that Hoagland was the dicoverer of the structures on both peaks, while written history tells us that Hoagland studied the North Peak and many of you thought I was insane at the time to be studying the South Peak, thinking it was a was a waste of my time. I received many e-mails from various sources, including you, stating I should look at the North Peak - the South peak is nothing! But regardless, everything I illustrate is simply anomalous, demanding answers. If the base data I'm provided is flawed or my analysis is flawed in some areas, then so be it.
