They also entertained me wonderfully in l983 during my first visit to the US and allowed me to live on mt own in their home in Evanston for a time while they were in Arizona. Such generosity of spirit for someone they barely knew was a thing I have never forgotten but was absolutely typical. Allen was an inspiration to me. It is not inappropriate to say that had I not been filled with joy to discover that there was a true scientist with such open mindedness, objectivity, humour and friendliness genuinely attacking the UFO mystery with principles 100% intact I would never have become deeply involved. There has never been anyone like Allen or anyone to replace him. I am pleased that under Mark and Jerry and the rest of the team that CUFOS is striving so hard to maintain the standards he set. Anyone who did not have the chance to know him is the poorer for that. But I am glad he is not around to see some of today's ufology. I fear he would be sad at some of the mercanary exploitation that goes on. Allen was far above all that. Jenny Randles
