OPEN LETTER REGARDING MARS NEW FACE CONTROVERSY: The Bottom Line: re: http://disc.server.com/discussion.cgi?id=8728&article=14727 8 images of the new face Terry James: >I've come to the conclusion that the reason the >face appears not to be affected by direct sun-light is that in all 8 >images, it never received any. I propose that this face actually sits >just below the mean elevation of the base of the crater. That can be >seen in the shading of the ground adjacent to it which changes as it >moves away from the face in a Northerly direction. Also, it would appear >that the valley adjacent to it (east side) is very deep. >Since the new face is not subject to direct sunlight unless the sun is >above the crater, we see very little of the expected shadows, instead, >we see light being diffused by contrast and simple reflection. * * * Dear Terry, I understand that maybe the morning shots could be similar...but even if it is reflected light...I do not believe that the evening shot could be identical. If anything...this demonstrates that this image has been PLANTED THERE...as a decoy...to make it all look foolish later on! It gives me a really queasy feeling in my stomach...ahhh....a set up. Please take some clay...make a deep deep bowl impression...the sculpt any random shape inside...deep....and move a light around...I'm certain you will see the reflected light move as well. Kind regards, Kynthia * * * history to this point: Terry James responed to my Planetary Mysteries Update (which I have just learned he made public and therefore required my open response) I sent him this message: * * * Dear Terry, There is no War. I posted exactly what I told you. I have no agenda, I do see what you are referring to, but I also see a drop cliff shadow and a lack of supporting structures...a suggestion of a face with no context as yet. As I mentioned in my update, that may still come. >it's received in excess of 7000 hits in only >one month Wonderful! you work hard, I happy you get the attention. But that doesn't mean that I must agree with you and not speak my truth. It happens that many of the researchers agree with my position...as I said, we won't know till we go there. >sales of its various associated bobbles and books? Terry, as you notice, its a close out inventory, I'm very devested of selling those materials, it takes away time from my art. >I can understand the >dilemma you face, however, there is something much more important for >you, Richard Hoagland and Mark Carlotto to consider in this new find. You're trapping yourself in a small box of spite...but I'm not in there with you, I wish you well. You notice that I have not removed the links to your site...because I respect the availability of different viewpoints. >In the long run, this New face on Mars will lend even more >credibility to existence of the Cydonia artifacts. Time will show, I hope you're right. > that you were putting too much power in this >one artifact, and that it would be quickly and ruthlessly debunked by >NASA I fear this will be the case with this new face. >NASA... have effectively (although unfairly) gutted the credibility of the >Face at Cydonia in the eyes of the general public Kynthia.... >However, the general public has lost interest in the Face >at Cydonia and anything associated with it... Not so....that is not what my email shows me...there is still significant energy there. >And this New Face I've found on Mars fits the bill perfectly. or it could be a disastrous fall ....if proved to be an illussion...which I wish I could see it as something more substantial than that. >the Face at Cydonia, this new face structure was imaged in excess of 8 >different times over a two year period! Let's see the other images and how they hold up under different lighting conditions before we jump to conclusions. >and rethink this issue I have no problem re-evaluating this face with other images from other sun angles. >With regards to your suggestive post that other of my work is >questionable...I actually laughed when I read that you thought my South >Peak was nothing but a clipped piece of fabricated data. As I said in my original message to you, which you are rewording and thus changing the meaning. When you first posted it and sent it to me...you were pointing to and indicating areas that were cropped and aligned improperly. I did not say that the peaks are not there, but that the feature you were pointing out was not there. >I received many e-mails from >various sources including you stating I should look at the North Peak, >the South peak is nothing! I, myself, never made any mention to you about the North Peak and I repeat what I refer to what I just wrote about your original message on the South Peak. as I said in my update and I have written to you many times...I appreciated your exhaustive efforts...AND I caution you to consider a bigger picture when you make such hasty claims...it will damage the whole body of investigation. Terry, please understand, I am not in collaboration - "cahoots" with the others...I act independently. There is not an intention on my part to defame your work, but I can not in good conscience keep silent and not share my personal viewpoint...because during these many years of studying the face , I have developed an intimate relationship with that structure...and this new face...is of a totally different nature. Why do you take it personally that I express my experience of the data? We are not in grade school, we are adults, and its important to have the courage not only to speak our truth, but also to allow others to speak theirs. Friends that are confident of their honesty encourage each other to speak their truth and allow the conflicting viewpoints to be part of the tapestry that binds rather than separates. Again Terry, I wish you well, you will not find me engaging in word battles with you. Kynthia * * * Terry responde with an email that he has asked to keep private, but the first line reads: >You have my word that I will not use any personal e-mail communication >between us in a public forum from this time onwards. I also did not make >public the e-mail you sent me late last night. As Terry neglected to mention that he had shared his first message...and having just learned of it...I now reply. Time will reveal the truth, who knows if we'll still be here to see it.
