Joachim, With all due respect, I happen to like American money. I wish I had more of it myself. And if it helps to solve the puzzle of crop circles, I frankly don't care if the research funding comes from gumball machines. Money talks, and many scientists who are unwilling to become involved out of curiousity or scientific responsibility might just enter the field (so to speak) after having a monetary carrot suspended directy ahead of their collective probosci.
