Hi Jerry, Gildas, All,
After Jerry set of his little nuclear device on the list I decided
to sit back and watch the fireworks. Except for this note from
Gildas there hasn't been a peep or a whimper from anyone. I
figure either everyone is waiting for further news/confirmation
or everyone is in shock. Jerry's 'news' (if true) is nothing short
of monumental.
I don't know how it has affected 'the English' (as the Amish
would say) but it is sending ~shock waves~ thru the abductee/
experiencer community.
I have always admonished the members of IF-AIC to remain as
anonymous as humanly possible for precisely the reasons
mentioned in Gildas' post. I am more afraid of an armed
Christian fundamentalist than I am of anything the aliens
themselves might do. I'm not just blowing smoke either. Look at
how many abortion clinic workers have had their brains blown out
in the name of the Lord and the preservation of Life!
The day it is confirmed that aliens are not only among us but
interacting with humans will be like 'open season' has been
declared on abductees. Maintaining "privacy" will be the least
of the worries. Maintaining life and limb will have greater
priority.
As for the evidence itself; it will only be met with incredulous
disbelief on the part of the public and the academic community.
They had "DNA evidence" in the Simpson case and he's still
walking around a free man!
The public and the academics won't believe anything short of a
living, breathing, alien that they could poke and prod. And even
then, some would have to cut it and see it bleed before they'd
believe it isn't just a "Hollywood" stunt or special effect.
I almost hope that they aren't ready to make their presence
known to all. As a race we're not ready, and the trouble that
will be visited on their human subjects by their own brethern is
something that should be (justifiably) feared.
