I've heard something about the fact that this plane landed at
Edwards Air Force Base, where some specialist in this kind of
emergencies/accidents got off the plane.

Later that person was interviewed by the press as an expert in
the subject, but there was no mention whatsoever that the guy
had been on the same plane!

Can someone provide more detailed information about this
individual, and what really happened?

This ties with the sighting of two triangular UFOs published
here in the message titled "Filer's Files #45 -- 1999"
