Introduction

This database includes:

The Project 1947 EM Effects catalog, which consists of previously uncataloged EM Effects cases, a portion of the BUFORA Vehicle Interference Catalog, and all of the Preliminary Catalog of Australian Vehicle Interference Effects (Basterfield and Jackson)).
Jacques Vallee's Magonia catalog.
Other cases not related specifically to EM effects (such as the cases from the Chronological Catalog).

Eventually, all of the catalogs at the site, including all detailed HTML case presentations, will be integrated into this database, as will future additions to the EM Effects catalog. Note that this database release of the Project 1947 EM Effects catalog contains significant new content from the BUFORA Vehicle Interference Catalog not previously available at the site and not currently available on the HTML page for that catalog (later to be converted to use this database).

The query facility initially presented is primitive, but more features will be added as time passes. See the instructions below for the types of possible queries

The database consists of about 2000 cases, some with detailed summaries. Currently, the query results only display the date, location, the complete summary and the original source of the document if known (lone numbers as references are typically references from Magonia - see Vallee's book to determine the actual source of the case). If a detailed page for the case is present at this site, the date will be a link that can be clicked to see that detail. Again, more options will be offered in the near future.

Note that this database is a catalog of raw data - in general, no attempt has been made to confirm the veracity of the account. To the extext possible, it has been confirmed that the information presented is identical with or compatible with the original source. Nevertheless, you are advised to check this material prior to use in any serious endeavor.

Query Form

Please enter one or more words or phrases to search for in the case summary. Separate them with the vertical bar or ampersand to indicate "or" / "and" respectively. Parenthesis can also be used. Do not use quotes of any kind. Do not use parentheses in your phrases except to indicate a combination of arguments. Lower case, upper case, and mixed case are different. Spaces before, after, or within search phrases will be respected. The % stands for 0 or more occurrences of a specific character. Note that this should only be used within the query, not at the start or end, because the query engine automatically generates % before and after your request.

Note that the summary, the informal location and the informal time will now be searched for your terms.

Example: (entity|Entity)&light beam - Produces all cases with a summary containing "Entity" or "entity" that also contain "light beam".

Example: 8/%/1957 - Produces all cases which have an informal date of August 1957.
