The Brick Moon

The Brick Moon

This is a modern remake of a work I did long ago in pastel. Each work has its own features to recommend it. In the original image, the clouds suggested a certain coldness and violence to the wind. In this image, the snow is melting, the air is hazy, and the metal sphere raises questions as to its relationship to the brick moon and its antenna. Is the moon its guardian, its successor, or is it summoning help?

With a work of this kind, the mystery is more intriguing than any answer.
